Swim

Caleb finished the Blue Fin swim team this summer and started back with the LISD swim prep team for the duration of the school year.  The high school coaches work with the kids Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights throughout the school year.  The cost is low and the practice options are high.  It's a great program because you can come to as many or as few practices as you want.  So, it's very flexible for busy families.  Caleb still enjoys swimming.  As of now he says he most enjoys backstroke and butterfly.
Thursday nights are ice cream nights with dad and Carter- a great way to end a week of sports!

100% Boy

I actually started a folder of pictures of Carter's face.  It amazes me the abuse his sweet face has taken in the last year.  He had the horrific bat accident last fall (that included an ER visit), soon to be followed with a foul tip onto the other eye.  A possible (yet still unconfirmed) spider bite and a couple of recess incidents.  Just last week the nurse had called to tell me about a "wall ball" accident where Carter caught the ball with his eye.  He, of course, was more interested in getting back out to recess than sitting with an ice pack on his face in the nurses office.  Even with a bruised up face, I think he's just totally adorable.

Soccer

Carter is playing his 9th season of soccer.  He is on the same team- Lightning coached by Coach Tim.  This year they changed their colors to green and white and we moved to the bigger fields.  For the most part Carter plays defense.  He's usually the last line of defense before the goalie.  And, he's pretty darn good at his position.  He's also not afraid to get right in there and take control of the ball.  It's so much fun watching these boys continue to excel in soccer!

Flag Football

Carter has been asking to play flag football for a year.  The thought of him out playing football does not make me all that happy; however, football is just something my boy wants to do.  So, I relented and Steve signed him up for flag football.  Turns out my boy is pretty good.  I think he scored every game he played in and also pulled many flags.  Steve would say he would tend to tackle as he pulled the flags, so maybe we should move him on to tackle football.  I'm just thinking he might be a top pick in the draft for this year's Cloverland Bowl.

Baylor Football

Baylor's Labor Day football game was against SMU.  Steve's cousin, Mark Voosen, is the long snapper for SMU.  We enjoyed cheering on our Bears while also cheering on Mark.

Brenner and Addison

Brenner and Addison are sweet friends!
As long as she doesn't become an Aggie like her Momma, there may just be a chance for these two!
