4 Months

I took Brenner to the pediatrician for his 4 Month check-up. He is doing great. He's right on target for all his milestones. He nurses most of the time and gets just a few ounces of formula each day. He goes to bed around 9:30 and gets up around 7:00 each morning. Looks like we might be able to move him upstairs soon! He takes 3 or 4 naps during the day. He's always making noise and easily distracted by his brothers. He rolls over all the time from tummy to back. He's occasionally rolled from back to tummy. Here's his 4 month stats:
14 pounds, 10 ounces: 40%
26 1/2 inches: 93%
Long and thin!
I checked on Caleb and Carter's stats at the same age. Caleb was 15 pounds, 15 ounces and 23 3/4 inches long. Carter was 16 pounds, 12 ounces and 26 1/2 inches long. So, Brenner is my smallest in weight but equally long as Carter. I'm sure once he starts taking more formula that will change!

He Found His Voice!

Now this is the "camera-shy" version of him squeaking and squealing. In the car he is nonstop making noise.

Halloween

Yes, this is the Halloween post. (Finally!)
And, yes, it starts with Brenner on his first plane trip.
Brenner and Grammy had lots of fun on the airplane to Arizona!

Meanwhile, back in Texas the older boys were having a Halloween party with the neighbors. They decorated pumpkins.

They also searched the neighborhood for hidden candy. Picture an Easter egg hunt on the entire street. Fun, huh?

Darth Vader and Jengo Fett... very thankful for 90% off costumes at Target after Halloween last year. Equally thankful the boys went along with the idea of wearing them.

Ah, the true identities are revealed. Here they are posing with Grandpa.

Our attempt at getting the neighborhood group photo. Now there are 17 kids on our small street. Plus we have a few extra there for trick or treating. I love that we all spend Halloween together each year.

And, I don't want to forget about Brenner. We came home on Sunday after Halloween so he missed trick or treating or even dressing up. He did have this cute Halloween onesie. So, I stuck him in his princess chair (borrowed bumbo from Sunni) and set him next to the pumpkin. It's the best I could do. He was happy to sit for the obligatory Halloween photo.

Dallas Arboretum- Pumpkin Style

We went to the Dallas Arboretum a few weeks ago. We've only been during springtime, so I was anxious to see what they have going on during the fall. Needless to say, I was not disappointed. Flowers were still blooming everywhere, but all the beds were lined with pumpkins. I cannot even begin to guess how many pumpkins were at the arboretum.

Some pumpkins were almost as big as the boys!

Wow!! That's all I could say when I saw the pumpkin house.

I've never seen so many different types of pumpkins and squash. It was amazing!

Everyone was placed in a perfect row, so the symmetry was very eye-catching.

Here's a horse made out of hay.

Brothers gotta hug.

Me and my big boys.

My 3 sons! See any resemblance?

So blessed!

Future daughter-in-law... not sure which son she'll marry, but I'm sure she'll fall in love with one of them!

Steve and Brenner

Caleb, Carter, and Kayli

The boys are trying to steal a kiss. Kayli says, "I don't think so!"

Another attempt to kiss her. She just doesn't want any part of it!

The littlest pumpkin in our family.

Brenner found his tongue! Such a cutie!

Soccer and Baseball

Finally the rain has past and the sports have resumed. We're now bogged down with make-up games, which makes for some very busy times.
Last Thursday night Carter FINALLY scored his first goal for the season. He would always rather play defender. You should have seen the big smile on his face. On Saturday he had another game sandwiched between Caleb's 2 baseball games. Thankfully Grandpa (Steve's dad) and Stewart were there that day to help juggle all the games. I was out of town for the weekend.
Carter is clearly wearing his brother's shirt under his jersey.
Go Carter Go!
High-Five tunnel after the game.
And here's Caleb playing baseball. He's such a cutie!
He must be either stretching or a bit bored while waiting for some action.
Time to bat.
Steve and Steve watching the eldest grandson play ball. I love this photo.
Caleb got his first hit on Saturday. It was such an exciting event for our family. The ball was overthrown to first so he got to take second base. Then the next boy hit him home. I was so very sad to miss his big game. But, I was thrilled for Steve, Grandpa, and Stew. All the James men got to see it! And, after the game, Caleb's coach gave him THE game ball. What a thrill!! Caleb told me all about it over the phone that afternoon. And as soon as I walked through the door Sunday night he showed me the game ball. I couldn't be more proud.
Here's my 2 big boys. They are just the cutest guys ever! I love that they like playing sports. Stew was so great to take pictures for me. He's a much better photographer and has such a great eye. I think all the James guys had a great Saturday. (It helped that TX beat OSU later that night)
