Back to School 2012

First Day of School for Caleb and Carter!
The boys let me drive them to school, but that's about it.  Carter posed for a few pics before begging me to leave.  Caleb made me promise to not go near his side of the school.  Hard to believe these guys are in 5th and 2nd grade!  This is most likely the last year they will be on the same campus.  Sniff Sniff... This year Caleb has a teacher that is new to our campus.  Mrs. Havener previously taught 6th grade, so we are excited to have a teacher that knows where Caleb needs to be for middle school.  Carter has Mrs. Leibold, who was Caleb's 2nd grade teacher.  He has his buddy (and neighbor) Adam in his class this year as well.  Brenner starts preschool the following week with his 3 year old teacher, Ms. Tonya.  Brenner is most excited to be back in class with his buddy, Dawson.  I think this is going to be an awesome year for all three boys!

Boxing

Caleb tried a new sport in August.  He took 4 weeks of boxing lessons with Jovan at TUF.  He really worked on cardio training and endurance.  Most of all he had fun learning a new sport.

Andy and Jenny

Andy came to the metroplex for work earlier this year.  Cheesecake Factory just happened to be about halfway for both of us!  What a special treat!

TriWaco

Steve and Shanan decided to compete in the TriWaco this summer.  They both chose to do the Sprint Course.  The boys were very excited to cheer them both on as the raced through Waco.  The night before the boys decorated signs to hold up for various legs of the triathlon.

That morning I drove Shanan and Stevan to the Hilton to get all set up for the race.  Our next door neighbor was doing the Olympic Course of the same race.  So fun to get to cheer Todd on as well!

The race started soon after the sun came up.  Shanan was in the heat just before Steve.  The kids had awesome views of the Brazos from the historic Suspension Bridge.  We could watch the entire swim from above.  It got a little tricky trying to keep up with them since they kind of all looked the same.  Either way we had fun cheering them on. (Grant was sick and couldn't make the trip)
Shanan is waving at us!  Now let's see if we can keep up with her in the race!

Next is Steve's turn in the water.

After the swim, the racers ran to the transition area to get on their bikes!

After the bike they transitioned to the run.  Shanan was already off and running by the time I got back across the river.  Steve had to turn around and wave.  I almost missed him!

The boys finally got a chance to have fun while we waited for the runners to come through the finish line.

What a huge accomplishment!  As soon as they crossed the finish line the clouds opened up and the rain poured down.  We had such a great time cheering the on!

PTA

This summer I went to the State PTA Convention in Austin with my friends, Diana and Beth.  I actually learned so much about Texas PTA over the weekend.  In between various lectures and sessions, we enjoyed the food and scenery of Austin.  Any chance to get away for a girl's weekend is a fun weekend to me!
For the next 2 years I'll be serving as Parliamentarian for our school PTA.

Water

Summer 2012 involved swim lesson for Brenner from Mrs. Davis.  His cousins, Chelsea and Jonah, joined him.  Also, Caleb had swim team every morning of the summer with several swim meets throughout the metroplex.  And then lots of swim fun at the house.  Mark lived with us for several weeks and was able to join the kids in the pool, which was really awesome for me!  If you live in Texas, you gotta be near a pool!
One place that didn't have much water this summer was the lake house.  This is an older photo, but the lake is still down quite a bit.
