Playgroup Valentine's Party

Brenner's little friends came over to celebrate Valentine's Day.  Each friend brought a Valentine to share.  The kids were just precious passing out Valentines to each other.
Left to Right:  Brystol (Amanda), Brenner (me), Tate (Randi), Jacob (Emily), Ava (Hannah), and Jake (Lisa).  We were missing Addison (Angela),
This photo is just too funny not to share.  I was trying to get some cute lovey-dovey poses from Brenner and his girlfriends.  Brystol's eyes say it all.  The girl is clearly not interested.  Maybe Brenner moved in a little too much for her.

Puppies

Something just so cute about a little boy and some puppies.  My cousins are fostering a litter or Boxers until they are old enough to be adopted.  They brought 3 puppies with them to the farm.  These little pups kept my 3 boys entertained all day long.

They all couldn't get enough of these puppies.  Did I mention how excited I was that there were 3 puppies!!??  Lord help us had there only been 2.
I also just love this picture of my cousin, Emily, with Brenner.  I love my family.

Happy 90th, Granny!

February started with the birthday celebration of one very special lady!  Granny tuned 90 years old on February 6th.  She just asked for a family meal out at Cloverland.  Her children (my dad, my 2 uncles, and aunt) and their spouses all organized the big party- complete with BBQ and fixins.
Girly, George, Granny, Jim, and Dan
 90th tea cakes
This is what we do best- hang out and talk!
Even her nieces and nephews (my dad's cousins) all came out to celebrate.

Anyone who knows my Granny will say she is the most amazing woman.  She loves God.  She loves her family.  She loves Baylor.  She makes it a rule to never let her feelings get hurt.  She loves food- and will actually remember most occasions based on what she ate.  She's lived on the farm since the 1940s and has never been scared to be alone.  She still teaches Sunday school every week and will still bake us chocolate chip cookies.  She doesn't like getting older just because it's slowing her down, but is thankful for that shot every 3 weeks that helps her move around more easily.  I'm so blessed to call her my Granny.

Play Room Window Treatments

The before and after photos.  I'm so lucky to have my friend, Vicki!  She is so creative and talented.  We have a great deal.  I teach her kids piano.  She sews for my home.  Almost every room now has custom window treatments.  This is something I would not normally be able to have.  It's nice to have a talent worth bargaining for!  We went with a Lego theme.  I wanted bright colors- fun... but not real Lego fabric.  Just something that would work with their Legos (the Lego shelf is on the wall opposite of the windows).  Vicki built the window treatment with an actual shelf on top so we can set various Legos up for display.  We are always needing more display shelf!  I love how this turned out!

The Office

This room has been so out of whack for many years.  It's been half used to hold Brenner's stuff (so we don't have to go up the stairs for everything) and half used as an office.  The papers were piling up and it had become quite disorganized... and dusty.  I spent a few days in here reorganizing, filing, cleaning, and trashing.  It's actually now a pleasant place to be!  For the longest time it was so messy that I couldn't see how Steve could get anything done on his work from home days.  I'm so glad to check this off my list... until the next time.

1 Year Old Faces

I finally got Brenner's 1 year face photo framed (say that fast 3 times).  I moved the other 2 photos to the wall where my stairs go up to the hall.  I love this new spot.  When I pull up to my house I can see their 3 faces from my driveway.  And it's fun to see how much the resemble each other at the same age.  Just so you know, they are in birth order stepping down.
